St. Luke's has been the historic site for hundreds of weddings for more than 150 years, and is truly one of the most beautiful buildings in southeast Wisconsin. For the couple that envisions a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony, St. Luke's provides a perfect setting.
The area where the ceremony is conducted:
Large, spacious church with cathedral ceilings and stained glass windows, burnished wood pews with buffed marble floors, large double doorway for bride's entrance and couple's exit, wide stairway to the street below.
Amenities available for the ceremony:
Seating for 300 in pews, two levels of marble flooring with area for the ceremony, and high altar area for Communion if desired. Aisle torches are available for rent. Also available is our full pipe organ, high altar candles, a lectern for readings, and a high pulpit if the minister chooses to use it. Separate dressing rooms for the bride and groom with mirrors and hanging racks; gorgeous garden area where photos can be taken.
Couples may choose to use clergy familiar to them. However, our parish priest may be available to work with couples on planning the ceremony with required premarital counseling and rehearsal.
An hour-long rehearsal the night before is part of the contract with the church.
Use of videographers, photographers, florists, etc.:
Videographers and photographers are asked to be as unobtrusive as possible during the ceremony and to not use flash photography except at the entrance of the bride and the exit of the bride and groom, as well as before and after the ceremony. Florists are asked not to use adhesive materials that would leave a residue, and are asked to remove all materials and flowers after the ceremony, unless prior arrangements have been made to donate the flowers to the church.
